I was driving somewhere with my father when we saw a black on black 2+2 at a dealership in Morristown, NJ. It had a tiny red pinstripe down the sides, and I hated that. Thought I could just peel it off, but it was painted on :( Turned around and saw a red Lotus Elan for the same price. Was VERY tempted...but I still don't like red cars. But a red Lotus...I had already set up a date (two days later) to go look at the one I wound up buying, so I figured it could be my back up car. The part I left out of the original post bout me being lucky was the fact that I didn't even open the hood of the Z when I bought it. I had only done stupid things to my Z31 (redid the head liner, intake mod thing that was done on them, intercooler from a later year, the rear from a later year, etc) so I didn't know much about cars at that point. So it was 100% an impulse buy and luckily that never bit me in the ass.
